Palmdale School District is located north of Los Angeles, in California. It is the seventh-largest California city by land area.
Desert Willow Middle School, home of Palmdale School District Radio offers middle school students three options: Fine Arts, Science or Technology. The Fine Arts pathway provides introductory to advanced learning and performance opportunities for students in variety of Visual Arts and Performing Art selective classes.
Radio Broadcasting and Production introduces students to the fundamentals of radio broadcasting and digital audio production. Activities include learning how to operate internet radio broadcast equipment. Student projects include producing public service announcements and station promos, news casting, interviewing, and multi-track audio production for the purpose of radio broadcasting. The ability to read aloud comfortable and confidently is required. Students will be exposed to voice and diction practice and basic oral reading techniques, as they produce sound tracks in practice studios.

--Talk on various issues of interests
--Music selected and presented by our own student DJs
--Live sports coverage
--Live local arts coverage
--Live local event coverage
--Special musical presentations
--Local civic meeting coverage
--Special communication in case of emergencies that impact our community
